Remy is a master thief. What has been shown and hinted at places him as one of the best in the Marvel Universe and more than able to get into, out of, and steal almost anything without the use of his mutant powers. He also knows the Dewey Decimal system back to front.
Remy is an expert in hand-to-hand fighting, especially the use of a Bo staff and the Savate style of fighting. Savate is also known as French Kickboxing, and is a martial art which uses both the hands and feet as weapons and contains elements of western boxing, grappling and graceful kicking techniques. He also has the ability to throw small objects - including knives, throwing spikes, rocks and playing cards - with extraordinary accuracy.
Remy is bilingual in English and French, as well as able to change his accent to reflect his role. He is also a master cardsharp and gambler.
Remy also seems to be able to 'zone out' when being tortured or beaten.
He has shown his bravery on many occasions, but has also been shown to be sneaky, observant, patient, cunning and willing to pick and choose his battles if possible, even if it means looking weak, afraid, trapped, or hesitant. He uses these deceptions in order to have his foe underestimate him or to wait for the best chance to strike, as well as trying to anger his opponent in order to get them to make a mistake.
Despite this Remy can also be emotional and reckless in battle if someone or something he cares for is in danger or he is pushed too far. This extends beyond battle, and his best and worst accomplishments have come when he has lost his cool and let his emotions override his instincts, risking all and not giving a damn about the consequences.
Remy is a gambler to the very bone and weighs the risks based on what there is to be gained or lost. He will gamble everything for those he cares about since he is strongly loyal and protective of those who he considers his family and friends, no matter how they treat him.
He lives for the excitement and thrill of the game, the adrenaline rush, loves the company of interesting women, and is an accomplished flirt. Despite his flirtations though, he is extremely loyal to the woman who he considers his.
Remy is also a consummate people watcher, observing personalities and habits possibly as a direct consequence of his training as a thief.
Because of his less than virtuous past, he sometimes feels inadequate as a person in comparison to those around him, despite the fact that they too might not have always walked on 'the side of Angels', and is constantly trying to earn his place and find his redemption.
