Belladonna

It is unclear when or how Belladonna and Remy met, or how they managed to fall in love despite being from rival Guilds, but it is clear that they loved each other deeply when they were younger. Although they believed that their marriage would unite the Guilds it was just a dream, as youthful recklessness and the intollerance of the Guilds spoiled their plans and led to Remy leaving his home and the Thieves. This, coupled with the fact that Remy didn't even offer to take her with him, pushed Belladonna to the edge of sanity.

When the Tithing time came around again, Belladonna arranged a trap for Remy, luring him back to his home by kidnapping his brother and taking the Thieves' tithe and offering to exchange it only for Remy. The trap sprung Belladonna intended to force Remy to marry her, and to kill the Thieves by swapping their Tithe for a fake, however Rogue, Wolverine and Jean Grey stepped in to help. Defeated Belladonna was stripped of her powers and had to watch as Remy left again, swearing never to return to his home or the Thieves, despite her begging him to stay.
